Poker History Samir Shakhtoor from Malmö, Sweden, is mostly known in the European circle of professional poker, and will always be known for his winnings in the 2007 and 2008 European Poker Tours.
The first live tournament Samir Shakhtoor has ever won cash in was the WSOP World Championship in No Limit Hold'em on July 15th, 2005. Although he only reached to the 94th place in that tournament, he earned a respectable sum of $77,710. Samir Shakhtoor still had a long way to go in order to win the desired glory of a professional poker player, and he relentlessly continued walking that path.
A few months after his first winning, on November 18th, 2005, Samir Shakhtoor took the 7th place and a winning of $207,000 in the WPT Season 4 main event of No Limit Hold'em. After these tournaments Samir Shakhtoor took a few quiet months, without any memorable results in major live tournaments, before reappearing in the 37th WSOP in July, 2006, and taking the 27th place and $8,085 in the WSOP No Limit Hold'em Short Handed tournament.
Ever since then, Samir Shakhtoor has won a few more tournaments, in two of which he took the 1st place, hence becoming an EPT Champion twice. He won the first title on March 10th, 2007, in the Hohensyburg Open No Limit Hold'em tournament, and took a prize of $69,463. A single day later Samir Shakhtoor proved his professional abilities once more, as he took the 3rd prize and $14,417 in another Hohensyburg Open No Limit Hold'em tournament.
The second title was earned by Samir Shakhtoor a year later, on Februaty 21st, during the EPT Scandinavian Open. He participated in the No Limit Hold'em tournament and won the big prize – the 1st place, the title and some $42,283.
So far, the last cash win in a live tournament for Samir Shakhtoor was in the 39th Annual WSOP, in the WSOP No Limit Hold'em Championship. Although playing his favorite game in which he specializes, Samir Shakhtoor had no great luck against his opponents and he had to settle for the 208th place and $38,600. Not too bad after all for someone who has a long way to go.
