History
A graduate in Aeronautical Engineering, and post-graduate of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (renowned institutions focused on executive career training), Andre Pagnillo decided to give up his successful career in a multinational telephone company to become a professional poker player. Having turned professional in 2005, Andre has achieved significant results in several national and international tournaments.

In 2009, Andre final tabled many notable events, including the Deepstack Stravaganza at the Venetian and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Andre was the first Brazilian to reach 4 final tables, during the Brazilian Series of Poker, and also the first to reach a final table in a primary EPT event, in 2007 when the tour hit Barcelona. Throughout his five years of playing poker professionally, Andre has earned over $250,000 in career earnings.

Outside of playing poker, Andre is a keen participant in the running of the CBTH (Brazilian Confederation of Texas Hold’em), where he actively fights for the legalization of poker in Brazil. He also acts as a commentator for Poker After Dark - one of the largest poker-related programmes on television – and is responsible for the technical direction of the largest tournaments based in the ‘House of Poker’ in Brazil.

Much similar to the CBTH, Andre serves as a technical director of large tournaments due to his association with the TDA (Tournament Director Association), where he has actively participated in the organisation of two of 2009’s largest tournaments – Poker Solidarity and the 750k guaranteed, which was the first official tournament in Brazil for Full Tilt Poker.
