Scott Montgomery burst onto the poker scene is 2008 when he made one of the toughest final tables in WPT history. At the final table at the LA Poker Classic which included the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Nam Le and eventual winner Phil Ivey, Scott finished in 5th place for just under $300,000.

Scott continued his impressive run a few months later at the 2008 WSOP, where he had 4 top 30 finishes including making it to the round of 16 in the prestigious $10,000 Heads-up Championship. His greatest success came in the $10,000 buy-in main event. Finishing day 1 with a strong stack, he was not content to just play one tournament, and in the break before day 2 he made the final table at a $5000 Bellagio Cup event finishing in 4th place. After returning to the WSOP and continuing with the main event, he survived 7 tough days of poker to make it all the way to the final table and was a member or the inaugural November 9.

Four months later, Scott returned to Las Vegas to take part in one the most anticipated final tables of all time. After a long and grueling day, Scott finished in 5th place, earning over $3,000,000. He was eliminated by eventual champion Peter Eastgate.

Scott continued strong in 2009 with 12 cashes in live events, including 4 final tables. But it was not until 2010 that Scott was finally able to earn his first major tournament victory. In the 2010 WSOP, Scott outlasted a field of 3102 players to win event #36, a $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event. This victory gave Scott his first WSOP bracelet and a prize of over $480,000.

Just a few days later Scott again made a deep run in the next $1,000 event. Making it to day 3 and outlasting 99% of the field, Scott finished in 29th place, falling short of winning back-to-back bracelets, but securing his 10th WSOP cash.

Scott Montgomery still calls Ottawa, Canada home but spends most of his time traveling the poker circuit, and now has over earned over $4,000,000. This puts him in the top 100 for lifetime tournament earnings amongst poker players.

Scott has been a Full Tilt pro for over two years, and you can find him at the tables on Full Tilt Poker under the name "ScottMontgomery".
