Poker History
Alex was born in Venezuela in 1984. He lived there for 6 years and then he moved to Santiago de Chile. He quit university because he didn't pay enough time to it. During that time he already played poker with a bankroll around $1,000 at NL200 live games. Plenty of times he found himself broke or tripled up.
After that he opened a restaurant with his brother. During that period he played a lot of live games and had $80,000 in winnings from tournaments in Chile.
One and a half years ago, he decided that poker was his real vocation and started to play online. He is a regular of NL50-400 HU tables, having a winrate next to 5BB/100in 600,000 hands. At the end of last year he wanted to go one step further and started to play higher buy-in tournaments with the only idea of going broke and get back to work or winning a major.
He used to play tournaments in Chile and had very good results. Last year he won two tournaments with a total of $40,000 winnings, being a good start for his goals. This year he beat a 530 players field, the largest field and prize pool of this circuits history, to win a $360,000 first prize.
After that, he started to play a lot online, tournaments this time and have had several victories either at Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars in tournaments like the $100 + rb, $200 + rb, several cashes in the Sunday Million, SCOOP, etc.
He is very well known in Chile for run several coachings and make training videos for dimepoker. You can find him playing high stakes. His winnings in tournaments online are set around $300,000 and around $500,000 in live tournaments.
