Ivo
Donev studied Sports at the Sport University of Sofia and became the
first certificated chess Trainer of Bulgaria. In 1990 he moved to
Austria to work as professional chess player and trainer for the
Austrian National Chess Team.
His strategic thinking helped to
achieve great success in Poker too, so that in the late 90´s he began
to play professional poker also. He won his first Tournament in 1999
and already a year later, at the WSOP 2000, Ivo took home his first
bracelet.
He is currently ranked #1 in Austria and has booked over 980k in winnings, 6 WSOP final tables and 1 WSOP Gold Bracelet.
In
1997 he became national champion in Chess and ten years (2007) later
the same in Poker, he is the only one that holds both titles.
Ivo masters all poker games and has proved that at the WSOPE in 2008, where he ranked 2nd at the H.O.R.S.E Event.
